Experiencing Zen

This is our first time to do Zazen. Actually, our teacher told us Zazen is a way to practice non-doing. One does not do anything, just sitting and breathing, and watching, but watching without eyes. At the beginning we were a little bit afraid, as we are so used to doing and going. Slowly and slowly, I start to feel a sense of peace and gratefulness from inside.

After our Zazen session, we were served with Buddhist cuisine – Shojin Ryori. Everything was made from vegetables. It was simply delicious. We had vegetarian meals before, however, this time feels so different. Especially after Zazen, our mind became quiet and sharp. Our body is relaxed. Our heart is full of gratefulness. We felt contented.
